Based on the Drama “Lampyriden”

"Light" conveys intensively the insecurity of an encounter without social conventions. Nobody knows what he or she has to expect from the other. What is truth, what is lie? Total darkness reduces the interpretable data to a minimum. There is an exhausting negotiation of perception, yet everything stays in a state of fragility. The quest for truth turns into one for power. Seemingly cemented constellations of power can be rearranged constantly. Rules emerge only to be revoked any time. In the end all stays unclear, even the obvious: is it really dark?

The point of departure for the staging is a highly abridged version of Klaus Fehling's drama "Lampyrids". The Interpretation by post theater simply features exactly the situation that is presented in the play. This reduction of means and the denial of a clear interpretation create a frightening complexity and strong emotionality.

The 15-minute performance in English language is only open for an audience of two persons, ideally a female and a male one. They are guided into a completely darkened room and sit on two chairs at a table, facing each other. The room is beyond perception. The perfect darkness communicates the emotion of uncertainty, which the drama talks about.

Die 15-minütige Performance „light" des Künstlerkollektivs post theater unter der Regie von Max Schumacher jeweils zwei Zuschauer mitten in dieses Spannungsverhältnis und lässt sie die eigene Suche nach Form und Licht erleben. Der Dramaturg Andreas Horbelt hat Klaus Fehlings Stück „Lampyriden" seziert und zu symbolhaften Sphären verdichtet. „light" ist Hörspiel, Performance und Installation und bleibt letztendlich doch minimalistisches Theater, das gerade durch die Reduzierung der Mittel eine eigene Komplexität und unmittelbare Erfahrbarkeit entwickelt. Fotos und Installation von Alice Schauhoff und Hiroko Tanahashi sowie elektronische Musik von zeitblom verstärken diesen Effekt oder setzen ihm eine individuelle Interpretation entgegen.
