Webit – Web Dream
AGM_08 WEBit is a collaborative online exhibition, generated from information submitted by artists, curators and cultural producers involved in AGM throughout the years. Each participant has submitted 8 links, a quote and the name of the city t
hey are born in and live in.
Artist Darius Powell has created, using the submitted info, a generative and ever evolving web platform. The Web Dreams concept of knowledge sharing and the representation of usually structured information in an abstract form to create new connotations. It’s construction involved the deconstruction of over 80 websites to create a pool of text and images. The user is presented with a new dream upon each visit and the ability to explore the 80 original sites via random www hyperlinks.
The Symposium was held on 16-17 November 2007 and analysed the interaction between journalism and art. It presented and discussed artistic projects produced through journalistic and documentarist means, and conversely journalistic investigations that use artistic platforms to reach the public.
AGM_07 Doc.Art focused particularly on the following topics: What is Aesthetic Journalism?; The use of realism in documentarist art; The deployment of visual devices to investigate strategies of territorial control.
AGM_06 DISCOMPACT explores artists’ interpretation and hence construction of a reality through the relation of sound-image itself rather than by means of a narrative. Reversing the notion of representation, AGM_06 DISCOMPACT explores how a combination of sound and image as such constructs, deconstructs or fails to construct a notion of reality.
AGM_06 DISCOMPACT is supported by Tuborg’s Grønne Fond, The Canadian Embassy & NAISA.
